Helping on Kanaan

Have you finished school or university/college and don’t know what to do next? Or do you just need time out?

We are a small international family of voluntary helpers at Kanaan. Our time here is interspersedwith work and prayer; worship and Bible study, all intended to grow our personal and communalwalk of faith. Meal times are good opportunities to share and get to know each other. Mostly wecome from different backgrounds and cultures so life is interesting, exciting and no two days arealike. Counselling is always available during your time at Kanaan through sisters of our community(for women) or with our brothers for men.

If you are between 18 and 35, we have the Kanaan Team, a special three week programme. Click on the link here for details.

For the “Young at Heart” (35 years and older)

You have your own guest house where breakfast and the evening meal are self-catering. All ourguests and helpers eat lunch together.

As well as helping in different places of work, there is plenty of opportunity for personal prayer andrecreation. Our extensive grounds with the “Sea of Galilee” and “Garden of Jesus’ Suffering” are an open invitation for time with Jesus.

Questions we are often asked

How much does it cost to stay with you?

As a non-profit ministry, we live by faith and  and leave it up to our guests to decide if they would like to give a donation.

Can people come to you for a time of quiet?

You are welcome to come for a quiet day. Please let us know in advance. You may also come to Kanaan for longer than a day, but in that case please have a talk with a brother or sister in advance. As a rule, a longer stay at Kanaan includes helping out in one of our work areas.
