What we believe

We are often asked: Do you believe everything that is written in the Bible?

What we believe and confess:

We believe that the Bible is the holy, inspired Word of God, given to us by the Holy Spirit through men. It testifies of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and is the only infallible guide to Faith:

You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about Me, (John 5:39).

Their teachings and commandments are still valid today, because:
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Heb. 13:8).

We believe in the Holy Trinity:

God the Father -

God the Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ -

and God the Holy Spirit -

one God who has revealed Himself to mankind in three persons who bear witness to one another:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and God was the Word... And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, a glory as of the only begotten Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:1, 14)

I have glorified You on Earth and completed the work You gave me to do. And now, Father, glorify Me with You, with the glory that I had with You before the world was. (John 17:4-5)

But when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all Truth. For He will not speak from Himself, but what He hears He will speak, and what is to come He will proclaim to you. (John 16:13)

As it says in the Apostles' Creed, we believe that God's plan of salvation is concluded in our Lord Jesus Christ.

The need for salvation is expressed by the Apostle Paul in his letter to the Romans 3:22 This righteousness is given through Faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

In the death and resurrection of His only begotten Son Jesus Christ, God has opened the way to salvation for us humans:

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
And in no other is there salvation, neither is there any other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved (Acts 4:12).

... (they) are justified without merit by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. Whom God put forward as a propitiation by His blood, to be received by faith. (Romans 2:24-25)

We believe that the true Church is the community of all believers and consists of all those who confess Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and serve Him in spirit and in truth. It is His body and

He is the head of the body (Colossians 1:18)

For as the body is one, and yet hath many members; and all the members of the body, though they be many, are one body: so also is Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.(1 Cor. 12:12-13).

We believe that every Christian is obligated to proclaim the saving message of our Lord Jesus Christ in Word and deed, according to Matthew 28:19-20:

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, and teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.

The service and vocation of every Christian is to do according to the Word of Jesus, who sets before us as the highest commandment:

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind ... You shall love your neighbor as yourself (Matthew 22:37.39).

This includes witnessing of our Lord Jesus Christ and living according to His commandments in everyday life.
